The platform

What the platform actually does.

Modules that share the same data, instead of programs that ignore each other. They switch on separately: you start with whichever hurts most, and the rest follows at your organization’s pace.

They are grouped here into six families. Under each one, the work it removes from your week. Not features — hours. Our pricing is published (free up to ten people tracked), and the free 21-day trial needs no credit card.

People and qualifications

One file per person, volunteers included, with each qualification’s status recalculated every time it is read. Background checks (the date and the outcome, never the report), a compliance statement for any date, expiry reminders, Read the card, recertifications and training, competency evaluations and hiring interviews.

  • What it takes off your desk
  • Maintaining a spreadsheet of certificates and cards
  • Chasing someone a third time for a photo of their card
  • Knowing who is qualified for a role, or no longer is on the date of a shift
  • Tracking background checks without keeping the report
  • Hunting for the training day that settles the most expiries at once
  • Starting a hiring-interview grid from scratch
The staff list: each person’s status, which qualifications are in good standing, expired or awaiting confirmation, and the next deadline.

Schedules, time and budget

Shifts judged on the date they take place, open shifts and replacements announced in advance, availability and time off, schedule notices, the time clock, timesheets and the budget they feed. Timesheets export as a generic CSV: Remanso does not run payroll.

  • What it takes off your desk
  • Building the schedule around availabilities that change every week
  • Finding a replacement at six in the morning
  • Telling the team, one person at a time, that the schedule is out
  • Recounting everyone’s hours before payroll
  • Rebuilding by hand the file your payroll expects
  • Tracking the compensation budget in a separate spreadsheet
The week’s grid, grouped by place: under each location, everyone’s shifts day by day, what is still to fill, in red those of someone whose required qualification is missing or expired, and the hours planned each day.

Activities and places

Activity and place planning, floor plans you plan directly on, estimated attendance, participants imported from your registration system and their progress reports, private-lesson requests, visitor counts and session plans. Remanso is neither a registration system nor a payment system.

  • What it takes off your desk
  • Checking by hand that the person in charge holds the required qualification
  • Guessing how busy the showers and lockers will be
  • Untangling conflicts over rooms and courts
  • Filling in progress reports by hand at the end of every session
  • Sharing out private-lesson requests among instructors
  • Counting visitors on loose sheets

Operations and compliance

Registers and checks with thresholds and a signed record; water norms for pools and wading pools in all thirteen provinces and territories and all fifty states, each value with its source; issues; forms you design yourselves; inventory and requests; supervision and rescue plans. Entered once, then searchable and exportable.

  • What it takes off your desk
  • Retyping paper sheets into a spreadsheet
  • Looking up which chlorine or pH standard applies to your pool
  • Proving a check was actually done, and when
  • Getting a repair to the person who will fix it
  • Preparing the month’s file for the inspector by hand
  • Discovering in June that equipment you thought was ordered never was
The log list: code, frequency, how many checks each one carries, and when it was last filled in.Inventory by item: total on hand, how many places hold it, the last count, and what has fallen below its reorder point.

Communication

Encrypted push notifications with no name, time or place; a team notepad with read acknowledgements; digital signage; and a register of Android devices. No SMS.

  • What it takes off your desk
  • Calling everyone to say the schedule is out
  • Wondering who actually got the instruction
  • Getting a signature on paper to show a policy was read
  • Updating three different display boards with the same information
  • Looking for where the lobby tablet went

Your workspace

What the modules share, and what is not one more module: the Today dashboard, search and favourites, internal announcements, the employee space on phones, roles and team-scoped access, multiple sites and sectors, French and English with your own vocabulary, the onboarding assistant, CSV imports with a preview, removable sample data and a complete export of your data and documents.

  • What it takes off your desk
  • Wondering where to start the day
  • Retyping your existing files one by one
  • Explaining again to each person where to find their schedule
  • Giving a manager more access than they need
  • Worrying that you could not leave with your data
The dashboard: what needs a decision up top, then what is simply true today.
Who it’s for

Not just cities.

Any organization that places staff or volunteers in front of the public, with certifications to track. A city, a long-term care home, a school, a neighbourhood group: the mechanics are the same. Size doesn’t matter; the fact that it comes round again does.

Municipalities Non-profit organizations Sports clubs and associations Community centres Activity schools Recreation co-operatives Health and social services The school system Public services

In recreation and culture, it often looks like this:

Aquatics Day and overnight camps Group classes Dance, music and the arts Martial arts Arenas, gyms and courts Cultural programming Seniors’ activities

Elsewhere it is the same mechanics under another name: shifts to cover on a care unit, supervisors and daycare staff to place in a school, a field team to spread across a public service.
