Sports clubs and activity schools

Scheduling and certifications for sports clubs and activity schools.

Remanso brings together, for a club, an association or an activity school, the schedule of facilities and classes, the coaches, instructors and leaders who run them, and their certifications. Every session happens with the right person, and you know it before it starts.

A club of forty people gets the same platform as a city: what changes is the number of files, not what you’re allowed to open.

Who it’s for

Every session, the right person.

Sports clubs and associations, dance, music and arts schools, martial arts, group classes: coaches and instructors, volunteers, facilities to share and certifications to track. The list isn’t closed; the test is.

What weighs on you

What you track by hand.

Each heading is a real chore. Underneath, what Remanso does about it.

Knowing who is certified, and until when

Each person’s coaching certifications and background checks, with a reminder before every expiry. Someone without the required certification can’t, by default, be assigned.

A coach is out, an hour before

A certified, available replacement is found from the schedule, without calling ten people or checking every card by hand.

Facilities and rooms that overlap

The schedule of activities, facilities and the people who lead them is in one place.

Session plans that live in someone’s head

A library of reusable session plans that every coach follows, and notepads for instructions and handovers.

Class lists retyped from one system to another

Participants are imported from your registration system; classes, groups, attendance and end-of-session report cards are followed in Remanso.

Evaluating coaches without forms to retype

Evaluations are filled in on a shared grid, skill by skill, and sit in the person’s file.

Certifications

With their source.

Each club declares the certifications it requires; Remanso imposes none. Here is what our reference of Québec qualifications lets us state, with the issuer named. We publish no figure we can’t source.

Published terms, in Québec

  • Youth Leadership Diploma (DAFA): for life. 33 hours of theory and a 35-hour placement, with nothing to renew. Source: Conseil québécois du loisir.
  • CPR/AED, Level A (adult only): term to be confirmed with the issuer (read the card from your provider: Heart & Stroke, Canadian Red Cross).
  • Standard first aid with CPR/AED, Level C: term to be confirmed with the issuer (read the card: Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Lifesaving Society).

What you set yourself

  • National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), Coaching Association of Canada, and Respect in Sport, Respect Group: term to be confirmed with the issuer (read the card). We publish no figure for them; you enter your federation’s.
  • One type per level you require: “trained” and “certified” are not the same thing, and a single type named “NCCP” will never tell you which one is missing.
  • Criminal record checks: Remanso records the date and whether the person is cleared, never the contents of the report; the interval is set according to your club’s policy.

Common questions

What we get asked.

Does Remanso track my federation’s coaching certifications?

Yes: you declare the certifications your federation or club requires, and Remanso tracks each person’s expiry and sends a reminder before it arrives. Depending on the certification, the expiry is written on the document, calculated from the date earned, set by you, or absent when the diploma is for life.

A coach is out: how do I find a replacement?

From the schedule. Remanso shows the people who are free and in good standing, and someone without the required certification, or already assigned elsewhere, can’t, by default, be picked.

Does Remanso replace our registration system?

No. Participants come from your registration system and are imported into Remanso, which then follows classes, groups, attendance and end-of-session report cards.
