Volunteer management and staff scheduling for your nonprofit.
Remanso is volunteer management software for Canadian nonprofits, and it schedules your paid staff too. Schedules, files, qualifications and follow-ups live in one place instead of six spreadsheets and an overflowing inbox.
A team of three gets the same platform as an organization of several hundred: what changes is the number of files, not what you’re allowed to open.

Community centres, day camps, programs for seniors, cultural programming: the mission varies, the mechanics don’t. People are placed with the public, and certain qualifications have to stay current. That is the only test.
What you spend the week doing.
Each heading is a real chore. Underneath, what Remanso does about it.
Chasing a certificate for the third time
Each person’s file, volunteers included, keeps their documents, qualifications and expiry dates. The reminder goes out on its own, to the person or to management.
Finding cover at six in the morning
The schedule places staff and volunteers alike. Cover comes from people who are free and in good standing; someone without the required qualification, or already scheduled elsewhere, can’t, by default, be assigned.
Answering a funder in a hurry
Qualifications, background checks, interviews and minutes are recorded as you go, so what your board or a funder asks for is already on file.
Losing the history when the committee changes
Team notepads keep instructions, minutes and handovers together. A new member finds what was decided with a single word, across every notepad at once.
Hiring on criteria that shift
Reusable interview grids: every applicant is judged on the same criteria, and each criterion is read on its own.
Scheduling requalification in time
Requalification and training sessions, and each person’s training hours, are tracked in one place, before a certificate lapses.
With their source.
Each organization declares the qualifications it requires; Remanso imposes none. Here are a few examples from our reference of Québec qualifications, with the issuer named. We publish no figure we can’t source.
Published terms, in Québec
- Workplace first aid (CNESST, 16 h): valid for 36 months after it is earned. At expiry the full 16-hour course is taken again; there is no shortened refresher. Source: CNESST.
- Youth Leadership Diploma (DAFA): for life. 33 hours of theory and a 35-hour placement, with nothing to renew. Source: Conseil québécois du loisir.
- Standard first aid with CPR/AED, Level C: term to be confirmed with the issuer (read the card from your provider: Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Lifesaving Society).
What Remanso does with them
- Criminal record checks, including for the vulnerable sector: Remanso records the date and whether the person is cleared, never the contents of the report. The renewal interval is set according to your organization’s policy.
- One expiry, four ways to set it: written on the document, calculated from the date earned, an interval you choose, or none when the diploma is for life.
- When a term depends on the issuer or on your policy, the reference says so instead of making one up.

What we get asked.
Does Remanso manage volunteers the same way as paid staff?
Yes. Every person has a file, volunteers included, with their documents, qualifications and expiry dates. Volunteers and staff are placed on the same schedules, and someone without the required qualification, or already scheduled elsewhere, can’t, by default, be assigned.
What does Remanso keep from a criminal record check?
The date and whether the person is cleared, never the contents of the report. The renewal interval is set according to your organization’s policy, and the reminder goes out before it expires.
Where is our data kept, and can we take it with us?
Files are kept in Québec. Your data exports in full, in an open format, at any time and with no exit fee.
How does the free trial work?
It lasts 21 days, with no credit card and no automatic renewal. You hand us your spreadsheets as they are; we build the platform and adjust it with you. If you stop, you leave with everything we built.
