Shift scheduling for long-term care homes and health care teams
Remanso is staff management software for long-term care homes (CHSLDs), residences, care units and other settings where teams look after residents and service users: shifts, replacements and the qualifications of nursing staff, in one place.
It does not replace the resident’s file. It takes care of what happens around it: who works a shift, who can cover it, and which licence or training is about to expire.
Shifts that hold.
Shifts and their replacements
See the week, spot open shifts and find the people who are available. Someone without the required qualification, or already scheduled elsewhere, cannot, by default, be assigned.
Staff qualifications
Practice permits, mandatory training, certificates: each document has its expiry date, and an email goes out before each one, to the person or to management.
Teams that hand over to each other
Team notepads keep instructions and shift handovers in one place, searchable by a word.
The real difficulties.
The shift to fill at the last minute
An absence at six in the morning, and a list of names to go through: who is free, who has the training, who is already scheduled elsewhere. Remanso answers those three questions from the schedule, instead of leaving them to the memory of whoever picks up the phone.
The licence that expires quietly
Professional orders, resuscitation, occupational health and safety certificates: dates that live in a spreadsheet nobody reopens until it is late. Here, the date is entered once, and the reminder goes out on its own.
The instruction that does not cross from one shift to the next
When information passes by word of mouth between days, evenings and nights, it drifts or gets lost. Handovers live in the notepads, with who wrote them and when.
What the reference covers.
Remanso knows no qualification in advance: each organization keeps its own list. To start from a base rather than a blank page, we import with you the ones that apply to you. Here is what the Quebec reference holds for the sector, with the issuer of each document.
- Practice permits of professional orders: registered nurses (Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec), licensed practical nurses (OIIAQ), psychologists (OPQ), social work or family therapy (OTSTCFQ), physiotherapy (OPPQ), occupational therapy (OEQ), dietetics and nutrition (OPDQ). The expiry date is written on the document: you enter it. Source: Remanso reference, classed as set by law.
- Safe Patient Handling Principles (PDSP): 24 months after completion. Issuer: ASSTSAS.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): term to be confirmed with the issuer. Issuer: Cœur + AVC.
- Workplace First Aid (16 h): 36 months. At expiry, the full 16-hour course is taken again in full, with no shortened refresher. Source: CNESST, classed as set by law in the reference.
These durations come from Remanso’s reference of Quebec qualifications, compiled on September 15, 2026. It is not exhaustive, and the issuer of each document has the last word. For training that falls under your facility’s own policy, we publish no duration.
In Quebec, no card.
Kept in Quebec
The service that receives your records and its database run on a machine located in Quebec. Your organization’s information does not leave Canada to be stored.
Kept apart from others
Each organization is isolated from the others, and that separation is written into the structure of the database itself.
21 days, setup included
You hand us your spreadsheets as they are, and we build the platform. No credit card, no automatic renewal. If you stop, you leave with everything we set up.
The price follows the number of people whose file you keep: a health care facility pays according to its size. See pricing · How the trial works · Privacy policy
Before you try.
Does Remanso replace the resident’s file?
No. Remanso coordinates staff: shifts, replacements, permits and training. It is not built to keep a clinical record, and we do not claim it is.
Can we track the practice permits of professional orders?
Yes. The expiry date written on the permit is entered in the person’s file, and an email goes out before it. Someone on your team checks the uploaded document before validating it.
Where is our staff’s information kept?
In Quebec: the service and its database run on a machine located in Quebec, and each organization is isolated from the others. The public website you are reading collects nothing. The privacy policy covers the rest, including third-party services.
How long is the trial, and is a credit card needed?
Twenty-one days, with no credit card and no automatic renewal. We build the platform from your spreadsheets, and every module is included during the trial, shift scheduling too.
